Milestone Achieved: ARC Training Centre for Battery Recycling Ready for 2025

The UoA team came together on Wednesday 18th December to celebrate our 2024 achievements and mark the end of a successful year.
We are thrilled to announce that the Participants Agreement for the Australian Research Council (ARC) Industrial Transformation Training Centre for Battery Recycling has been successfully signed by all Partner Organisations and is now fully executed!
This marks a significant milestone for the Training Centre as we prepare to commence full operations in 2025.
The ARC Training Centre for Battery Recycling is a collaborative research initiative focused on addressing the challenges of battery recycling – from waste collection to metal recovery and material reuse.
The Centre brings together a talented team of 13 experienced university researchers and 6 industry partner investigators with expertise in areas such as electrochemistry, metallurgy, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, battery design, and materials synthesis and characterisation.
We are also proud to support the next generation of researchers, including:
4 ARC-funded Postdoctoral Fellows
12 ARC-funded PhD students
5 University-funded PhD students
1 Lab Engineer
A huge thank you to everyone involved for your collaboration, patience, and hard work in reaching this stage. Your support has been invaluable!
Wishing all Training Centre Members, Friends, and Supporters a wonderful holiday season and a happy, healthy start to the new year.
We look forward to the exciting work ahead in 2025!
